Even though I said “no” to April Fool’s Day last week, I did make something for it:
It cracks me up how well this went together for 5 seconds in photoshop LOL
Monday I got my Padme lake dress cardigan from maxxmerch! I love it!! Plus it came with a pin, a print and a keychain!!
I filmed an unboxing video, got it edited and uploaded to tiktok… where it stayed under review for over an hour for some reason?? So I deleted that one and reuploaded it… no review this time, but about 5 minutes after I uploaded it I realized there was PI possibly visible in one shot, so I had to private THAT ONE too and reupload it for a 3rd time and by that point the tiktok algorithm kneecapped it and hardly anybody saw it. Bummer. But I love my cardigan so who cares.
I did finally do some stuff in my sewing room last week.
Got the patterns for Baylan and Shin assembled (from Sionnach Studios) and did mock-ups of just the basic lining layers to check fits. We don’t have fabric for Baylan yet but I do have my Shin vest fabric, but we need to figure out what we’re doing for the trim/cording on the chevrons before I dig into mine.
Saturday was yardwork, some more mock-ups and I started packing for the trip.
I have to say I’m impressed as hell with myself for actually managing to keep up with BOTH rose earrings and BOTH hair bobbles from my y2k Sailor Jupiter. That’s 24 years of keeping these things together.
Sunday we ran some errands, including Goodwill where I found some possible Shin boots and Chase found some friends.
Sunday afternoon since I was kinda stuck on Shin and Baylan, I went back to playing with Padme mock-ups. I got some new fabric to mess with.
I got Breha out and copied the neckline/armhole shape for the capelet piece, so that went together pretty quickly. I need to tweak the shape a bit but it’s close enough for now.
The hood gave me some difficulty though. It looks ok from this angle but the hood shape in the back isn’t right, it’s full enough. Will keep messing with it tonight.
Honeymoon Leia is nearly done, Chase finished printing & cleaning up my belt buckle and necklace pieces. Now they just need paint, the necklace pieces need strung together and I need to put a snap on the back of the belt.
In other news our kitchen sink is messed up/backed up which is fun. Having somebody come look at it tomorrow. Money was already tight this month so love that for us š
Art Corner!
I did finally get that Uhura piece properly uploaded, and I’ve now added to the series…
